Founders Azacca IPA is worth waiting for

Our Journey

We’ve featured Founders Brewing Company many times in the past due to their outstanding craft beer, as well as their dedication to the craft brewing industry and to the quality of all of their brews.  Today we’re taking a look at Founders Azacca IPA, which is a seasonal brew from Founders and well-worth waiting for.  This brew won’t come available again until January, as it just finished its run at the end of March, but you might be able to find some for trade if you’re lucky.

Founders is always providing us with new reasons to love craft beer

Founders Brewing Company has a big reputation for their amazing IPAs and other outstanding craft beers.  Founders offer the brew in 22 oz. bottles, six-packs, and fifteen-packs when they release it, so the odds of you finding some still available are there, but slim.  However, this brew is certainly worth waiting for and you really should be popping it onto your “must buy when released” list because of the aroma and flavor, not to mention the classic Founders quality, make it entirely worth it.

Azacca IPA is a classic IPA  with a huge hopcentric flavor and great malt backbone that are blended together perfectly by the brewmasters.  Weighing in at 7.0% ABV and pouring a luscious burnt orange in color, the brew has a very fruity and citrus filled aroma that will draw you in for that first sip.  The flavor profile of the brew features more fruity notes that are well-supported by the malt backbone and caramel buffer, while the hops are still given top billing and provide a very nice floral note that lingers with the slight bitterness of the finish.

Although we have to wait again until January to enjoy this brew, we felt Founders deserved some credit for producing an outstanding seasonal brew that we miss already.  We can only hope that they consider making this one a year-round offering, as there are plenty of enthusiasts like ourselves who would love to see it pushed up to that all year status.

Have you tried Azacca IPA?

If you’ve tried this brew or any of the other outstanding craft beer produced by Founders Brewing Company, leave us a comment and let us know what you thought!  We’d love to hear from you and your comment just might spark our next feature post.  In the meantime, we’ll be right here in West Palm Beach, Florida, working hard to get ready for our own opening later this year at West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault.  Happy Brewing!
