5 Craft Beers You Must Try at West Palm Brewery

Uncategorized

It’s tough to say who has the very best craft beer in Florida. The West Palm Brewery has a 20 tap system at The Long Bar, inside 332 Evernia Street, and here are 5 craft beers that fans say you must try ! Some may surprise you, and some may even make you scratch your head.  But the top 5 craft beers below represent quality and uniqueness both at the same time.  And, according to our fans, patrons and customers, these drafts in our tap room provide something special in your beer glass that is worth trying, or telling friends about.  And, at the West Palm Brewery, we are all about friends, good times, family and creating an experience.  We know that you have many options in Palm Beach for your entertainment and hospitality dollars, as well as your time.  That’s why we have tap parties and give away free, custom designed limited edition craft t shirts to the first 50 patrons.  That’s why we have the Intracoastal Kitchen: so you can have a bite to eat while enjoying the best craft beer that South Florida has to offer.  And that’s why we have shade and outdoor seating; because we know that you may want to bring a pet with you and sit outside, or just sit and relax with friends, under the great Florida nights.

  1. B4 Blonde   The most popular beer at 332 Evernia Street is the B4 Blonde Ale.  It was created as an easy sipping, laid back “lighter” beer that fans could enjoy at Palm Beach BBQ‘s, Florida beaches, in backyards, and on the intracoastal waterway in a boat.   https://www.westpalmbeer.com/our-beers/ It’s #1 on the tap list chalkboard above The Long Bar.  (Be on the lookout for Florida fruit ales.  Our Chief Brewer, Joel Kodner, will craft and create new, interesting variations of our blonde ale, with locally sourced fruit.  So, look for a strawberry blonde ale made with Plant City, Florida strawberries, or our “it sold out fast again” B4 Razz, made with Florida raspberries. ) What other 5 craft beers must you try in Palm Beach?
  2. Dreamer’s Lager.   Made for Cinco de Mayo, 2018, this lager was released at a tap party on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 to great acclaim.  Our brewery phones were ringing off the hook ! People were literally calling in from Boston and Chicago to buy beers for anyone sitting at The Long Bar, which is our tap room with the production facility behind the glass.  Dreamer’s Lager is a Mexican lager made with PilsnerVienna malt, flaked maize, and a hint blue agave.  It’s refreshing and ever so slightly sweet.  You can read more about our Dreamer’s Lager and see a video on this Mexican Lager at this link: https://www.wptv.com/news/region-c-palm-beach-county/west-palm-beach/west-palm-brewery-takes-stand-on-immigration-with-dreamers-lager
  3. HOP Gangsta.  Chief Brewer Joel Kodner was asked to make a super hoppy beer that fans had asked for.  You know the kind: the aromas leaps out of the glass with hints of fresh, clean hops and, on the palate, that IPA is so thirst-quenching and refreshing.   This is Hop Gangsta!  One fan actually loves enjoying Hop Gangsta IPA after playing tennis in West Palm Beach.  We know that craft beer lovers in Florida love IPAs.  And you probably have tried our MeterMaid IPA and Dr. K’s Double IPA.  Our Hop Gangsta is a mac-daddy addition to our India Pale Ale lineup.  Like all of our craft beers at 332 Evernia Street, it is made on sight and available in our tap room, which features 20 draft taps to choose from, served at 37 degrees.
  4. Palm Beach Porter.  People consistently say that they love this dark beer.  The Palm Beach Porter is photogenic!  It has a beautiful, deep, dark, color with a tan/caramel colored head, with wonderful expressions of roasted malt, coffee and a hint of chocolate.  It is not, repeat, not, super sweet nor a milkshake.  It is everything that a Porter should be and more.  It is also wonderfully delicious and won’t fill you up like some dark beers do.  Our Palm Beach Porter has integrity and substance without being too heavy.
  5. Joel’s Rotating Coffee Line.   We heard the fans and we are listening !  You wanted more coffee beers, porters, and ales and we have got you covered!  Joel loves coffee beer.  He spends time carefully interviewing local coffee roasters and sampling various coffees, and premium beans, while searching for the proper flavor expression he is looking for when making a coffee porter or ale at that moment.  We were surprised, around January of this year, to see that our coffee beers were selling out in like a day.  So, we are making more: larger quantities (like a 1/2 barrel or full barrel) and making them more often.  Joel uses various coffee beans from local roasters, and carefully selects the type of beans he is looking for, across a number of geographies and flavor profiles.  He then selects the grind (course, fine, super fine, medium) to get that perfect expression of coffee in his Cortadito Coffee Porter (for which we used beans sourced by Jupiter, Florida’s Oceana Coffee https://oceanacoffee.com/) or Unfashionably Guatemalan.  What does the future hold? Well, Joel just returned from visiting breweries, production facilities, and tasting rooms for craft beer companies in Santa Barbara, California, in the Funk Zone, and in Goleta and the Sta Rita Hills area like Lompoc, Santa Ynez, Los Olivos and Buelton.  Look for a light coffee beer coming down the pike.
