Blueberry Wheat Ale on Tap at West Palm Brewery

Uncategorized

Summer is calling !  The Blueberry Wheat Ale is on tap in the tap room at the West Palm Beach Brewery, 332 Evernia Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. What’s the significance?  True story: as boy growing up in New England, the owner would go blueberry picking with his dad and brother, Jim.  Their dad knew were the good spots were for picking fresh blueberries, even though, back then, in the 70’s and 80’s, blueberries in New England did not get ripe, or ready for picking until August.  Their dad grew up in Methuen, Mass, the son of Lithuanian immigrants, who were poor during the Great Depression. But they knew how to save and live off the land.  They hunted, fished, trapped and went mushroom picking, apple picking, they canned fruits.  And they knew how to go berry picking.  The owner and his brother went blueberry picking with their dad on Rt. 1 near the old Rowley, Mass golf course, and then up 95 near the old Seabrook, NH dog track.  Today, in 2018, that same search for great blueberries and that same passion and focus are all now reflected in a 37 degree, glass of delicious West Palm Beach Brewery Blueberry Wheat Ale !  Happy summer, happy 4th ! and happy sipping !

  • Locally Sourced  At the West  Palm Brewery, from our brewery restaurant and kitchen,https://www.westpalmbeer.com/our-food/  to our production facility (free brewery tours on Saturdays and Sundays), we strive to use local ingredients and local farmers and artisans.  We don’t have food trucks: we make our food, to order, in sight, right in front of your eyes.  At all turns, we try to use local family farms for our strawberries that go into our Strawberry Ale.  When we make our B4 Razz which is a raspberry blonde ale, we likewise strive to use the freshest, most local berries which we can find.  We give back to the land and family farmers by giving away our used or spent mash or barley to local farmers for their use on Palm Beach County farms.  To our knowledge, we are the only brewery in Florida which has an environmental statement or mission, or set of values: https://www.westpalmbeer.com/brewery-environmental-mission-statement/
  • Natural Ingredients in Our Craft Beer.  And please remember, we do NOT distribute our beer.  That means, among other things, that our brewery is NOT under pressure to mass produce beer and create huge batches of beer in a short period of time.  We only brew what we sell at the brewery at 332 Evernia Street.  You won’t find our beer in Whole Foods, http://www.Wholefoods.com on Amazon or in a Palm Beach restaurant, hotel or bar.   Our Blueberry Wheat Ale is made is a small amount, there is only a 1/2 barrel of it and its on tap in our 20 tap, tap room right “behind the glass” from our fermentation room on the premises at 332 Evernia Street. • No Extracts or Junk   Because we don’t distribute or produce huge amounts of beer, the West Palm Brewery never, ever uses flavorings or extracts or artificial colors or ingredients.  We are craft!  We are artisans.  No garbage!!  Only the best, typically locally sourced, high quality ingredients evaluated by our chief brewer with exacting standards, high standards for quality and flavor.
