The Brandlin Story is one that begins several decades ago. In fact, it begins before most of our own grandparents were born, back in 1870, when life was very different in the United States, especially in California. California was still a very young state, with the wild land, people, and a booming mining industry that had taken the country by storm. This mining boom brought many people to the United States from many other countries, including Italy, France, Spain, and more. With them, they brought hundreds of years of knowledge and experience in winemaking that sparked the winemaking culture of the region.
Settling on the stony slopes of Mount Veeder and creating a sweeping Estate that still remains a paramount of viticulture and natural growing methods, even after it’s purchase by Cuvaison Estate Wines. They have held together the traditions that made this vineyard great from the start and have kept to the rule that the wines of Brandlin should reflect the terroir, the fruit, and the amazing tannins of the grapes.
The epic landscape of the Brandlin Vineyards really showcases the beauty of Mount Veeder. With perfect, lovely rows of vines that have outstanding foundations lining the hillsides, this vineyard has the perfect base for their luscious wines. The varieties of grapes include the ever-popular Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Zinfandel and Malbec, which grow very well in the interesting soil of the region. The resulting wines are full of aroma and flavor and are delicately blended by the experienced hand of Winemaker Steven Rogstad of Cuvaison Estate Wines.
The tasting room that handles the Brandlin Vineyard wines is located in Carneros, which is due to the ownership of Cuvaison Estate Wines. Both wines are featured at the tasting room and you will have the opportunity to try both during your visit to the well-appointed location. We suggest trying wines from both Estates, as they really make a great pair and the selections offered are always outstanding.
If you’ve tried any of the sumptuous wines that Brandlin Vineyards has to offer, leave us a comment and tell us about them. We love to hear from our readers and your story might be the inspiration for our next feature post. In the meantime, we’ll be hard at work here at West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault in South Florida getting ready for our opening later this year. We hope to see all of you there and until then, happy tasting!
