Crickets are chirping in New Jersey

Our Journey

At Cricket Hill Brewing in New Jersey, you won’t find a flashy taproom or a lot of glitz and glamor. This lovely little brewing company is known for its simple origins and steady improvement over the years, as well as their dedication to what is most important, the brews that make their customers happy. Reviews about the brewery mention their great atmosphere and the fact that can actually sit and chat about brews with the owner, which is pretty outstanding when it comes to a craft brewery. Knowing your customers is a key to success and what better way to get to know them than to sit and talk about the brews they tried?

What’s on Tap at Cricket Hill?

At Cricket Hill, the tap list is up on a huge chalkboard, which is pretty awesome. It suits the laid-back feeling of the taproom quite well, blending into the cozy space perfectly. That list, however, is changeable, so you really need to pay them a visit to see what they may have around that isn’t always on their list. For example, they may have a blend on tap that is a “while supplies last” style and you certainly don’t want to miss out! However, since we realize that you might want a sneak peek before you make the decision to take a road trip, we’ve put together a teaser list of their brews below for you to check out.

  • Hopnotic IPA – This brew is a classic IPA that includes four delicious hops varieties, as well as being dry hopped! The huge hopcentric flavor and aromas will keep you interested for hours while you try to sort out the citrus, pine, and more. Weighing in at 6.5% ABV, this brew is not too heavy and will make your visit a treasure to remember.
  • Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale – The monks of old would certainly approve of this lovely Belgian-style brew. Plenty of citrus, fruit, and clove hints abound in the aromas and flavor of a brew that pairs up really well with a variety of foods. The malt is very well-balanced and we really enjoyed trying this one while we were there. It is definitely one that we will be trying again!
  • Sim-Notic Imperial IPA – Yes, we really did say Imperial IPA. This brew is a beast, with an ABV of 8.2% and IBUs sitting at nearly 72, you’ll definitely want to give it a try. One of the more bitter IPAs we’ve tried, we really enjoyed the aromas on this brew. It evolves very well in the glass and is a highly balanced brew overall. Certainly worth the road trip.
