This Family of Wines will steal your heart

Our Journey

Every vineyard has that one family of wines that truly represents their values.  Whether it is a Reserve Wine Collection that simply oozes luscious aromas or a lovely rose that piques the interest in a more delicate manner, there is something to be said for a great collection, or even single wine, that showcases an estate.  That has never been truer than it is for the Von Strasser Family of Wines.

How did Von Strasser start?

Von Strasser could very nearly have been a hard cider operation instead of an outstanding collection of wines.  Rudy Von Strasser chose to spend a year in the winemaking industry in the hopes of learning a bit more about how to make cider.  We’re quite glad that he fell in love with winemaking, as trying to make cider the way you make wine may have given him quite the surprise.  Von Strasser Family Wines began in 1989 when Rudy and his wife decided to purchase the Roddis Estate Winery on Diamond Mountain.  From there they hit the ground running and began to gain notice quickly in the many circles of Napa Valley with their delicious reds.

We’re quite happy that Rudy chose red wines as his passion because the reds coming from Von Strasser are absolutely amazing.  Their many Cabernet Sauvignon labels are some of the most popular wines in the region, as well they should be.  The quality of their wines is on the highest plane and we urge everyone to visit and experience a tasting, as you’ll fall in love with their wines right from the first.

Have you visited the estate or tried their wines?

If you have had the opportunity to visit this lovely winery, be sure to leave us a comment and tell us about your experience.  We love to hear from our readers and your story might be the spark for our next post on this great winery.  Be sure to tell us which vintage you tasted, as well as what you thought of it!  In the meantime, from all of us here at West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault, happy tasting!
