Frolic with Dancing Hares Vineyard

Our Journey

Tis the season for the hares to be frolicking within the vineyards of Napa Valley and this season is going great for Dancing Hares Vineyard.  This small estate offers a variety of wines that are sourced from grapes that grow within a range of soils you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in such an outstanding display.  Sitting on just 5 acres, you wouldn’t believe the quality that this little estate is capable of producing until you taste their wines.  Their premium wines are exquisite, with an air of dedication and commitment that seems to be infused into every bottle they produce.

Will you really see hares dancing in the vineyard?

While we’d love to catch some hares dancing around, we simply weren’t there during hare dancing hours (which we are told is closer to dawn) and missed the revelry.  However, we can tell you that the wines being produced at Dancing Hares Vineyard is delightful enough to make any hare dance about.  For example, their wine blends have a unique flavor thanks to their outstanding terrior, which they’ve managed to accent in their wines.  We really enjoyed tasting their 2012 Mad Hatter, which turned out to be an outstanding vintage.

This vintage contains a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot in ever graduated amounts and it is blended perfectly, then aged in French Oak barrels for 20 months before bottling.  As we all know, we can additionally age our wines in the bottle, and we allowed ours to age another two months in the bottle, so we cannot give you notes on the base wine, as ours would not be quite the same as a bottle recently corked.

Try their wines and see what you think

We suggest you take a chance and try some of the wines from Dancing Hare Vineyard, then let us know what you thought of it.  We are sure you’re going to enjoy the wine you select, as each wine is blended very carefully and with thought to the terrior each part of the blend came from.  Drop us a comment about any of the lovely Dancing Hares wines you have tried.  If you’ve had the opportunity to visit their lovely little vineyard, let us know about your experience as well!  Perhaps your comment will spark our next feature post.

In the meantime, from all of us here at West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault, Happy Tasting and we hope to see you at our opening in West Palm Beach, Florida later this year.
