Milk Stout at West Palm Beach Brewery Adds Depth to Craft Beer Lineup in the Downtown

Uncategorized

Milk stout on tap at the downtown’s very first micro-brewery?  More than that !  This milk stout at the West Palm Beach Brewery & Wine Vault is on N I T R O  !!!!    Here’s what you need to know!

  • Milk Stout at Nationally Acclaimed Brewery.  In the short time that the independently owned West Palm Beach Brewery & Wine Vault has been open — about 11 months — it has received great  reviews for its restaurant, https://www.yelp.com/biz/west-palm-brewery-and-wine-vault-west-palm-beach?osq=Breweries  its wine bar  https://www.westpalmbeer.com/our-wines/   and, of course, it’s craft beer.
  • Milk Stout on Tap.   The West Palm Beach Brewery has a 20 tap system in its tap room.    All the beer is made right there .  You can see the fermentation room and production facility “behind the glass” from the tap room and long bar.  The introduction of its milk stout, on November 9, 2018, is the brewery taking it to a new level. “We won a national award for our brown ale” says owner John Pankauski   “And our lighter beers, like our B4 Blonde Ale and IPAs, are huge hits with our patrons.  But now we want to focus a bit more on darker beers.”  So, Pankauski hints, look for the brewery to create a barrel age program with the use of red wine barrels and bourbon or scotch barrels.  For now, the milk stout getting on tap was a nice complement to the award winning brown ale, the very popular (and smooth) Palm Beach Porter    and the coffee and chocolate infused craft beers which the West Palm Brewery offers.  Their Fright Night Chocolate Stout was a limited reserve offering and sold out within days of being offered on Halloween.  (It’s back on tap.)
  • Rockin’ Craft Brewery.   As an example of the brewery offering guests an experience they just aren’t getting at other Florida breweries, Pankauski points past the great milk stout to something which may be considered un-traditional for breweries.  Rock ‘n roll.  And music.  LIVE music.  And block parties.  ” We all know certain breweries who boast ‘ It’s all about the beer and nothing else ‘.   At the West Palm Beach Brewery, we agree that delicious craft beer is the beginning and end point for a brewery.  But, it’s all about the CUSTOMER.”  stresses Pankauski.  The downtown brewery is unapologetic that it offers its patrons more than just beer.   The West Palm Beach Brewery has gained a reputation for throwing amazing block parties where they literally shut down the street in front of the brewery and put up an outdoor stage for live acts like The Polka King, Jan Lewan,  portrayed by Jack Black in the Netflix film,  https://www.netflix.com/title/80173395  or live CD release parties by local singer songrwriters and musicians. http://www.Montywarren.com       Their indoor stage offers live music after football season on Sundays when they offer wine specials like Rose ‘All Day and Sauvignon Blanc Sundays.   (This brewery has the NFL Sunday ticket, so there is no inside music during football season. )  So, they go outside and shut down the block !!  They have a Belgium Beer Day on December 1, 2018, the 2019 Winter Polka Block Party with The Polka King Jan Lewan    https://www.facebook.com/jan.lewan and Alex Meixner Orchestra https://alexmeixner.com/   on February 1, 2019 (day before the SuperBowl LIII https://www.nfl.com/super-bowl    ), and a wine event called the Pankauski Pour on March 1st, 2019 to benefit Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach. http://www.legalaidpbc.org/
  • Independent & Small Brewery.   If you wanted to invest in a brewery, you would probably select a growing market where you get a year -round population, a huge tourism industry and a 12 month a year season.  Florida and Arizona come to mind right away.  Craft beer financial experts and analysts and consultants would probably then point you to an under-served market, just like Florida.  “We actually have room for more craft breweries” says Pankauski.  “When you look at the number of craft breweries per capita or per geographic region, Florida is still under-served compared to other areas of our country.”   If you wanted to invest in a craft brewery, you might look to, well, South Florida.  And West Palm Beach.  “The city and its leaders have been wonderfully supportive. Amazingly so.  They love new businesses that offer unique, artisan products like craft beer, good food and premium wine.   The city is a strong backer of investors who want to bring people together, create foot traffic and good times. ”  Located just north of the Palm Beach County Convention Centerhttp://www.pbconventioncenter.com/   there are no plans for national distribution of the West Palm Beach Brewery’s award winning beer.    “I am flattered that investors and distributors and breweries call and want to invest or want me to distribute.  Everyone wants a meeting” laughs Pankauski.   “But that’s just not my focus.   I actually want to focus more on block parties, expanding our wine selection and supporting our brewer and chef to have our brewery + restaurant offer patrons and customers more exciting options and experiences.”    While Pankauski refuses to sell his brewery, and he politely declines investors’ advances, what he really wants to do is have more wine + craft beer dinners.  “Patrons love when we pair homemade food with our great craft beers and premium wines which you won’t find anywhere else.  Our market research of what our customers want — what they tell us they want — is a unique experience.  Exclusivity.”
