Pairing rich foods with craft beer is always fun. Whether you prefer to complement or contrast your textures and flavors, creativity is the key. None of us have the exact same tastes. This is obviously noted by the large variety of craft beers available on the market today. Long gone are the days when you had but a few choices when you bellied up to the bar. Now you can often find a dozen or more options to choose from and sometimes you’re really not sure what is going to taste great with the meal you’re about to eat. This is especially true with rich meals, as it can be hard to distinguish the flavors and textures of each meal.
We’ve compiled a nice list of rich recipes for you to check out and hope you enjoy them as much as we did. We’ve also included suggestions as to which brew we paired them with and links to the amazing craft breweries that make those brews. Check out the collection below and happy pairing!
Whether you’re into IPAs, Stouts, Porters, or Bourbon brews, you can easily choose a beer to go with your rich meals. It’s all about complement and contrast, which can either way. This is part of the fun in pairing rich foods with craft beer because we all like something a little different than everyone else. Below we’ve listed a few meals, with suggestions for each one.
Pork has its ups and downs in the food lovers venue, just like any other meat. A lot of this has to do with market values, but that is a subject for another article. If you love pork, this recipe is perfect and easy. In addition, it pairs very well with craft beer. A variety of craft beers to be exact. Check the list of suggestions below.

We don’t have a recipe for this one, but it should be pretty obvious by the name. With such a protein rich, and just rich in general, meal, you’ll definitely want a great craft beer to match it. Pairing craft brews with this meal is quite simple, as much like the pork, you can select a variety of brews to suit. We have included a couple of suggestions below for you to consider.
This meal is definitely on the rich side. As with all pasta dishes, you have to give respect to the dish by selecting a great brew to go with it. While some prefer to complement these meals with a creamy oatmeal stout, others prefer a lovely contrast with a double IPA. No matter your preference, you’ll want to choose a brew that suits you best. We’ve listed a few below for your consideration and hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
The whole idea of pairing rich foods with craft beer is to try something new on occasion. So, if you’re really into pairing IPAs with your meals, try a porter or a stout next time. The same goes for those who prefer a great porter, stout, or amber. Try an IPA and see if you enjoy the contrast it can provide. No matter your preference, you’re certain to find some new craft brews that you really enjoy.
We hope to see all of you in West Palm Beach later this year for our opening in April. We plan to offer food trucks eventually and it would be great to hear from you about the different pairings you have tried. Until then, happy pairing!
