Craft beer artwork is almost as popular as the craft beer inside the bottles and cans! This is probably due to the fact that craft breweries are starting to pop up with some amazing artwork that really catches our attention. There are other reasons for this artwork to be a great sight to see, such as the obvious connection between the craft beer community and the art community. Craft breweries all over the United States have taken an active role in supporting the arts.
There are a huge number of old and new craft breweries that feature amazing craft beer artwork. Some of these include Founders Brewing Company, Elysian Brewing, Smuttynose Brewing, Clown Shoes Beer, Ballast Point, Funky Buddha, 21st Amendment Brewing, and Weyerbacher Brewing, among many others. We’ve added some pictures below of some of the outstanding artwork we’ve found over the years from many different breweries.
As you can see, these folks really take their label art seriously. Each brewery has their own unique personality and it really shows in their labels. For example, we expect Clown Shoes Beer to have some outstanding fantasy-style labels that suit the names of their brews. In the same note, we expect Founders Brewing Company to have labels that are done up in lovely, muted colors with antique-style characters that hold either a Victorian era theme or a slightly fantasy based theme.
Craft beer artwork has more than one purpose. When a craft brewery creates their own style, it helps enthusiasts to recognize their brand on the shelves. In addition, if a brewery has great artwork, they are often encouraged to have memorabilia made in the form of sweatshirts, t-shirts, and more. This means that craft beer lovers are able to purchase this memorabilia to collect and the more creative and eye-appealing the art, the more likely they are to purchase it.
For example, take Founders Brewing Company’s Backwood Bastard Ale. The lovely and muted artwork would make a great print for t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, and even jackets. Enthusiasts would be more than happy to purchase memorabilia with gorgeous artwork.
Indeed they are. There are several old and new craft breweries around the United States that donate time, funds, and event support for local school art programs, local art galleries, and more. This connection shows their dedication to their communities and the future of our younger generations. The arts are very important to our future, as without creativity and individuality we slowly lose our history and our identities over time. Without creative minds and brave souls, we wouldn’t have the outstanding variety of craft brews that we get the chance to enjoy! And I’m pretty sure we can all agree that would be a very sad world indeed.
