We’ve spent quite a bit of time checking out some of the best craft beer on the market here in the United States, which has allowed us to find some of the most delicious brews around. We’ve even spent time in other countries comparing the truly traditional styles to those that we create here in the United States. While we’re certainly leaning toward the American styles of each brew type, we can appreciate the brews origins and are glad we’ve had the chance to try them ourselves. That said, we’ve put together three great American-style craft beers that we know will make you cheer.
This brew is certain to give you even more reason to love that innovative craft brewery, Funky Buddha. They’ve taken a delicious Russian Imperial Stout and added a distinctive and delightful twist! They’ve aged the brew in both Cabernet barrels AND Bourbon barrels, then blended it perfectly with a heavy dose of chocolate and copious amounts of cherries. We have to agree with the Buddha’s suggestion that this really should be shared with friends, as the ABV of 12% will leave you lonely otherwise. Either way, don’t miss out on this small batch brew or you’ll regret it!
We love the fact that Funky Buddha is able to take all of the great classic brewing styles and give them the perfect twist. They’ve done exactly that with their Fuhgeddaboudit Red Ale, which features a great array of aromas and flavors that make it perfect for pairing with genuine Italian Artisan pizza! Something about the brew simply works well with this food. Perhaps it is the European barley, though we’d like to think that they’ve simply worked magic, as always.
We simply cannot go without mentioning one of our favorite brews from the Buddha. 42 Truths Florida Pale Ale is a great brew that truly symbolizes South Florida. Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself at the Funky Buddha taproom! The mix of Citra hops and Florida oranges really pops and we can’t wait to stop in and have some again!
Stop into the Funky Buddha taproom and remember to stop back here and tell us about all of the great brews you tried while you were there. We love hearing from our readers and your comment could be the spark for our next feature post! In the meantime, we’ll be hard at work here in South Florida while we get ready for our own opening later this year at West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault on Evernia Street. Happy tasting!
